Summer KAL update (week 1)

My Gnarled Oak Cardigan didn't get off to such a great start.  I was almost through the first ball of yarn, when I came to the realization that it was HUGE!  so after a phone call and some thread posts I frogged it back......5" of work...gone.

But I am so glad that I did!!!!  I went down a needle size and a sweater size (what woman doesn't love that??) and now the sweater is shaping up lovely.  Plus it is a much tighter knit which makes happy.

I am just a few rows from my second decrease....and the end of my second ball.....little afraid of running out of yarn....I'm going to have to stick with the plan of short sleeves.

Make sure and check out the sweater KAL over at the www.lovinthemommyhood.com blog, the sweaters people of knitting are all making their way onto my "to do" list.

Have a great night and happy knitting!!!!

  1. Oh nooooooo not frogging! But it looks like you've got quite a bit of progress going again, so that's good. I had to peek at the pattern again and I was like "Oh yeaaaaaah. The one with the beautiful detailing" I'm really really looking forward to more updates. So no more frogging! Haha.

    1. I think the frogging is done....fingers crossed. I plan to plug away at this as much as possible until I start my second KAL of the summer (a mystery KAL over at West knits)

  2. That is a wonderfully positive approach to the frogging. Your project is looking lovely, look forward to watching it grow.

    1. this frogging was certainly worth it....as they all are in the end....as frustrating as it can be to have the loose all that work....a finished project that doesn't fit is equally as disappointing. Thanks for stopping by

  5. Oh no frogging is so hard to do but it's wonderful when you get to the part of the yarn that's new and unkinked...virgin yarn ;)

Yay! on the decreased size that always makes one feel good. So exciting can hardly wait to see the little cables and finish object :)
